New Pope in the world

Religion- Hello boys and girls of the Tiradentes ( o aluno de hoje tem que ler um pouco de tudo )
Argentinean elected new Pope
Argentinean Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio has been chosen to lead the Catholic Church’s 1.2 billion faithful [1]. He is the first Pope to have been born in the Americas and is also the first to take the name Francis

The new Pope was chosen in the early evening on March 13. The 115 Cardinals gathered in the Sistine Chapel made a choice that surprised the world. In the last 12 centuries, the Catholic Church has been led by Europeans - the last of them being Pope Benedict XVI, who renounced his position on February 11. Jorge Mario Bergoglio is 76 years old and is the 266th Pope. He has taken the name Francis, inspired by St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226), an Italian who became known for his great humility [2] living like a pauper [3], and devoting his life to helping the needy [4]. The new Pope was born in Buenos Aires and, like the vast majority of Argentineans, he likes soccer and tango. San Lorenzo is his team. On the same day he was elected Pope, the former soccer star Maradona said he would like to meet the new Pontiff soon. CNBB has confirmed that Pope Francis will be in Brazil during World Youth Day [5], between the July 23 and 28, in Rio de Janeiro.

The Argentinean Pope's life
The new pope has simple habits. When he lived in Buenos Aires, he lived in a small room and used to prepare his own food. Even as a Cardinal, he used to ride [6] the bus and subway through the neighborhoods of the capital. He also used to visit the slums [7] in the city. In 2001 he washed and kissed the feet of 12 AIDS patients. When he was just 13 years old he worked as a janitor [8]. Some years later he lost a lung [9] to illness. During his youth, he studied chemistry [10], before discovering his religious vocation.
